Specimen Preparation
The Model 463 Sikkens-type scratching stylus consists of a carbide cutting edge with a side support button guide and a handle. The Scratch Stylus acc. to Sikkens, Model 463-Pro, consists of a Sikkens cutting edge guided by a rubber-tyred wheel and a grip. The Scratch Stylus acc. to Sikkens, Model 463-Pro with modified handle can now even be used with free-hand guidance without a ruler and also left-handed. In the standard version of Model 463 / 463-Pro the Sikkens cutting edge has a width of 1.0 mm and rectangular edges. It is adjustable in the horizontal direction by raising or lowering the cutting edge, using the locking screws. A carbide cutting edge of 0.5 mm width is also available on request.
